“Synchronicity of Color"
Posted 10 August 2015 “Synchronicity of Color – Blue (2008)”, Margo Sawyer, Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney, Downtown. Downtown Houston is in the middle of an urban renaissance, thanks to Discovery Green, a 12-acre public/private urban redevelopment project next to the George Brown Convention Center and Minute Maid Park. Parks, gardens and public art have helped to make it an attractive place to live and visit. Artist Margo Sawyer’s colorful stacks of metal boxes were commissioned for the site and help to obscure underground garage stairways.
Twirl Art
August 1, 2015 A fun little thing to try if you have Photoshop or something similar. Here is how you do it: 1. Start with any photo. 2. Filter>Pixelate>Mezzotint>Medium Lines 3. Filter>Blur>Radial Blur>(slider = 100, blur method = zoom, quality best 4. Repeat step 3 up to 5 times as desired 5. Duplicate layer 6. Remain on original layer. Filter>distort>twirl (angle value = +80 or as desired 7. Select new layer Filter>distort>twirl = angle value =-80 or opposite of step 6 value 8. Alter new layers blending mode to lighten 9.
